Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall

1. Open Norton Internet Security.

2. Click Status & Settings

3. Click Personal Firewall

4. Click Configure, then Programs,

5. Under Manual Program Control should be a list of programs. There should be two listed for Field Data; FIELD DATA INTERNET UPDATE and FIELD DATA INTERNET UPDATE CHECK.
   Both should be set to PERMIT

Note: If Field Data is not listed in the list of programs, click ADD. Then go to My Computer, open the C: drive, open the FDIW folder, double-click on the file InetUpdt.exe. Choose Permit. Repeat for the file named UpdtChk.exe.

McAfee Personal Firewall

1. Open McAfee Personal Firewall (or right-click the McAfee icon and point to Personal Firewall), then click Internet Applications.

2. In the Permissions list, right-click the permission level for Field Data Internet Update. Click Allow Full Access.

3. Repeat Step 2 for Field Data Internet Update Check.

4. If you are receiving error # 25 when updating it is caused by the SETUP.EXE file being blocked. To add Setup.exe to your Permissions list:

   1. Click on the following link http://208.41.78.50/WebUpdates/TX/Setup.exe

   2. When prompted, choose Save. In the Save As window open My Computer. Open your C: drive, then open your FDIW folder. Click Save.

   3. Then open McAfee Personal Firewall. Go to your Internet Applications list.
      Click New Allowed Application.

   4. Browse to your C:\FDIW folder.

   5. Double-click on the file Setup.exe.

5. Your update should now complete sucessfully.

Please refer to your firewall's manual or help guide for instructions on adding a program or application to the Permit list. Most firewalls are configured similarly. You may find your firewall uses similar methods as those listed above.
